Gérard Depardieu was born in Chteauroux, Indre, France. He is one of the five children of Anne Jeanne Josphe (ne Marillier) and Ren Maxime Lionel Depardieu, a metal worker and volunteer fireman. After leaving studious at the age of thirteen, he worked at a printworks.
