Zeenat Aman is a Bollywood actress from the era when Indian cinema was emerging on the globe. She faced many difficult family challenges in the beginning of her life, failed and was also very disappointed. But an offer from Dev Anand Sahab changed her life overnight, after completing that offer, she had become a Bollywood actress.

Parents & Childhood

Zeenat Aman was born on 19 November 1949 in Mumbai to a wealthy family. Her father Amanullah was a famous writer of Bollywood. He did writing for films like Mughal-e-Azam and Pakija. Amanullah belonged to the family that ruled the Bhopal state.

When Zeenat was just 13 years old, her father died. Later his mother Sida married a German man Heinz and moved to Germany. Where he took Germany citizenship.

Zeenat’s mother was the cousin of Bollywood actor Raza Murad and niece of actor Murad.

Education

Well Zeenat did her schooling from a school in Panchgani and went to Los Angeles for further studies, where she started studying at the University of Southern California.

Modeling

But Zeenat dropped out of college and returned to India in search of a job as a journalist. But his fate was somewhat different. While reporting to Femina Miss India, she became fascinated like modeling and decided to do modeling.

In 1966, Taj Mahal worked for the first time as a modeling for the Tea brand. After that she participated in Miss India, but she was the second runner up. She participated in Miss India Pacific in 1970 and was successful in winning and also became the first South Asian Woman to win this award.

Filmy Career

After this success Zeenat moved towards films and in 1971, Hustle and Hangama films, but both films flopped. Frustrated, she returned to Germany. Then Dev Anand Sahab offered him for the Hare Rama Hare Krishna film (1971). By doing that, she became a star overnight. Especially because of the song Dum Maro Dum of this film, it became the most popular.

This was followed by Zeenat in 1978, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, which became a super-duper hit. Due to which she won the Filmfare Best Actress Award.

Zeenat also acted in the Hollywood film Shalimar in the same year. But the film faded. This was followed by Zeenat’s major films – Chor Ke Ghar Chor, Doan, Dharam Veer, Chaila Babu and The Great Gambler.

His last film is String of passion, which came in 2012.

She then distanced herself from Bollywood, but according to some reports, she might make a comeback to Bollywood.

Personal Life

Zeenat married Mazhar Khan in 1985 Maine, but her husband died in 1998. But she is the mother of two sons, Ajan and Jahan.
