Known for his strong acting in Bollywood, Irrfan Khan was born on 7 January 1967 in a Muslim family in Rajasthan. Irfan Khan’s parents Saeeda Begum Khan and Yasin Ali Khan were from Khajuria village in Tonk district and ran a tire business. His family belonged to the Nawab family of Tonk. His full and real name was Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan, which was later changed to Irrfan Khan.
Irfan Khan did his schooling in Jaipur and graduated from college. Irfan and his best friend Satish Sharma were good at cricket and later, they were selected to step into first-class cricket for players under 23 years of age for the CK Nayudu competition. Unfortunately, due to lack of funds, he could not reach to participate in the competition. He earned a scholarship to study at the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi in 1984 and got training in acting from there.

Marriage of Irrfan Khan
On 23 February 1995, Irrfan Khan married film writer and fellow NSD graduate Sutapa Sikdar. They have two sons: Babil and Ayan.

Actor Irfan Khan died at the age of 53 on 29 April 2020 at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai from colon infection while undergoing treatment for cancer. Irfan Khan died just four days before his mother died in Jaipur, whose last visit he could not.
