Shakti Kapoor Career
He started his film career with the 1977 film Alibaba Marjina. Kader Khan was directing the film at that time. After this film, he started getting offers from many films and in all those films he did such a great job that he never got the time to look back.
But his ‘Qurbani’ and ‘Rocky’ films in 1980-81 made him known as an actor in Bollywood. Shakti Kapoor also worked in 1983’s ‘Himmatwala’ and the film ‘Hero’ directed by Subhash Ghai. In both of these films, Shakti played the character of Villan very well.
During the 1990s, Shakti Kapoor started playing a comedy character. Shakti was also nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Comedian and once received a Filmfare Award for playing the role of Nandu in David Dhawan’s Raja Babu.

Since 2000, Shakti Kapoor has appeared in Priyadarshan films such as Hungama, Hustle, Chup Chup Ke, Malamal Weekly and Bhagalam Bhaag remake of the film Malayalam.
He has also worked in several Bengali films in Kolkata, as well as in Odia and Assamese films.
In 2011, Shakti participated in Bigg Boss 5 as a competitor. He collaborated with his sister-in-law Padmini Kolhapure in the comedy show ‘Aakash Se Gire Khajoor Pe Attke’. He has also worked in the Punjabi film Marriage da Garij.
Shakti Kapoor`s came to be seen as an actor from the films Rocky and Qurbani, because earlier he only played minor roles in films. He later played a very strong role of Villan in the film Himmatwala and Hero. This was the turning point of his film career.
