Piyush Mishra (born 13 January 1943) is an Indian drama actor, music director, singer, songwriter, screenwriter. Mishra was raised in Gwalior and in 1949, he graduated from the National School of Drama in Delhi. He has sung songs in films like Maqbool, Gulal, Gangs of Wasseypur.

Piyush Mishra was born on 13 January 1963 in the heritage city of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. Piyush Mishra was adopted by his father’s elder aunt, after which his name was Priyakant Sharma.
Piyush Mishra has completed his studies from Carmel Convent School, Gwalior. Piyush was interested in singing, painting and acting since childhood. His passion for acting led him to the National School of Drama.

After passing out of the National School of Drama in the year 1986, Piyush started doing theater in Delhi itself. Piyush became a part of many popular theater stage shows before venturing into the film world.

Piyush stepped into Hindi cinema in the year 1998 in the film Dil Se, in this film he appeared in the role of a CBI Investigation Officer. After this, he also wrote dialogues for some special films.
Piyush got recognition in Hindi cinema from Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Maqbool, the film Piyush played the role of Kaka, which was highly appreciated by the critics and the audience. After this Piyush appeared in many other films, such as Gulal, Gang of Wasseypur etc.
