Nafisa Ali was born on 18 January 1957 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Nafisa’s father, Ahmed Ali, is a Bengali Muslim, while his mother Filomana is a Roman Catholic. Nafisa’s grandfather S. Wajid Ali is one of the famous Bengali writers. So there is Nafisa’s aunt Zeb-un-Nisha-Hamidullah a Pakistani journalist.

Education

Nafisa studied at LaMartinier Calcutta. In addition to this he has also studied Vedanta taught by Swami Chinmayananda, who started the World Convention Center Chinmaya Mission.
