Dharmendra is a very popular actor of Hindi films. At the same time, he also achieved the same fame in politics which he used to own. Dharmendra contested the elections from Bikaner in Rajasthan on a BJP ticket in 2004 and won it and represented the people there in the Lok Sabha for 5 years.

Dharmendra Singh Deol is a rich actor with acting talent, whether it is a straightforward honest hero of the film Satyakam, or an action hero of the film Sholay, whether it is a comedian hero of the film Chupke Chupke. After making his acting debut in 1960 with the film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere, Dharmendra dominated the film world for three decades. He was educated only till matriculation. Right from school, films were so popular that Dillagi (1949) had seen the film more than 40 times. Dharmendra often used to go to the cinema hall instead of attending class. He was a clerk in the railway before entering films and worked on a salary of about one hundred and fifty rupees.
Arjun Hingorani liked Dharmendra during a competition of Filmfare and Hingorani ji signed him for the role of a hero by giving a sign amount of 51 rupees for his film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. The first film had the heroine Kumkum. The first film could not make any special recognition, so the next few years of struggle were over. In the days of conflict lived in a small room in Juhu.
