Chiranjeevi’s profile

Chiranjeevi’s was born on August 22, 1955 in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Chiranjeevi’s real name is Konindale Shiv Shankar Vara Prasad. Chiranjeevi’s graduated from Commerce with CSR Sharma College in Ogole (Andhra Pradesh) after passing his Class XII examination. After completing studies, Chiranjeevi came to Chennai and after coming here, he enrolled in the Madras Film Institute to learn acting. In the year 1980, Chiranjeevi married Surekha, daughter of the famous comedian of South Indian films, Allu Ram Lingaiya. Chiranjeevi has two daughters (Sushmita and Sreeja) and a son Ramcharan Teja (Telugu film actor).

Chiranjeevi’s film career

After receiving training in acting, Chiranjeevi started his career with the film Punadhiralu. Renowned director Bapu’s film Mana Puri Pandavulu recognized Chiranjeevi. Chiranjeevi’s acting abilities were further boosted after playing the lead roles on Chhoti in the film I Love You and Idi Katha Kadu.

Chiranjeevi’s had eight films in the year 1979 and fourteen big films in 1980. After this, Chiranjeevi gained a lot of popularity by playing negative roles in films like Mosagadu, Rani Kasula Rangamma.

The 1980s proved to be very important and successful for Chiranjeevi’s career. Chiranjeevi’s also acted in many successful films in the nineties. In the year 1997, he received a lot of praise from critics on the strength of his unmatched performance in the film Hitler. The film Indra released in 2002 broke all the previous records of success. Chiranjeevi’s last film before coming to politics was Shankar Dada Zindabad.

Chiranjeevi and Praja Rajyam

In the year 2008, Chiranjeevi`s established a regional political party called Praja Rajyam Party with the aim of providing social justice to all classes of people in Andhra Pradesh. Chiranjeevi’s party won eighteen seats in the 2009 assembly elections. But in 2011, his party formally merged with the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh.

Apart from his films and party, Chiranjeevi has also been identified as a social worker. Chiranjeevi Charity Trust was founded in 1998 by Chiranjeevi which has a blood bank and several eye banks (eye donation centers). The Andhra Pradesh government has also rewarded his institution for accumulating the highest blood.
