Who is Bharat Bhushan?
Bharat Bhushan was an Indian artist, a Hindi cinema script writer, and a producer. He was born on 14 June 1920 in Meerut, and after making his matchless contribution to Indian cinema, he took his last breath in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 27 January 1992 at the age of 71 years. His contribution and acting can never be forgotten.
Introduction
Bharat Bhushan belonged to the city of Meerut of a Baniya family. His father, Raibahadur Motilal, was a lawyer. His mother had passed away when he was two years old. His younger brother was a film producer who had his own Ideal Studio in Lucknow. Bharat Bhushan received his undergraduate education from aligarh. After that he went to Kolkata for acting, which was his father’s wish, he joined the cinema world there and after that he completely established himself in Mumbai.
She then married Sharada, daughter of zamindar Raibahadur Buddha Prakash, a high-ranking family of Meerut, and had two girls named Anuradha and Aparajita. Anuradha had complications related to polis. Sharda died of labor complications after giving birth to her second child in the early 1960s, soon after the film Rainy Night. In 1967, she married actress Ratna, her co-star on the film Barsaat Raat.
Bungalows owned by Bharat Bhushan in India, Mumbai and other areas. He was an avid reader and claimed a collection of books, which he often had to sell like his cars and bungalows in bad times. He died on 27 January 1992 when he managed to get rid of his financial crisis.
Professional life-
He made his debut on painting (1941) with Kedar Sharma. However, he struggled to make a mark in Hindi films by doing Baiju Bawra (1952) for over a decade, giving him instant stardom and legendary status alongside Mohammed Rafi, Meena Kumari, and Naushad Ali. Although a very talented actor and a leading star in Hindi language films in the 1950s and 1960s, he often played tragic musicians in films. Films in which he acted as the lead actor include Basant Bahar.
Contemporary actor-producer Chandrasekhar says, he portrays historical and mythological characters as the best in Hindi films. He wrote scripts and stories for the rainy night, Nayi Umar ki Nai harvest, Basant Bahar, etc. His brother Aa Chandra made many films like Babas, Minar and Basant Bahar.

He was the recipient of the second Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1954 for the film Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Rafi, Manna Dey Most of the great songs of prominent singers of that period like Talat and Mukesh were depicted about him. He was the first chocolate-faced good-looking star of Hindi films. He was one of the few artists who had a good musical sense, so most of the music-based films in the 1950s and 1960s were played with him.
Bharat Bhushan acted in Hindi language films until the 1990s. He is still loved and respected by Indians for great films and great songs which he gave despite personal tragedies and stiff competition from his contemporaries. He is considered one of the greatest stars and actors of Hindi cinema.
